Can I use Sticky Bandit and CalMag with PuurOrganics?Updated 2 days ago

Short answer: both work.

Sticky Bandit is a straight yes. You can drop it into any PuurOrganics feed and it'll play nice. Regular CalMag also works chemically, but most organic growers are better off using PuurCalMag, which is the organic version we built for this exact situation.

Here's the breakdown.

Sticky Bandit with PuurOrganics

Sticky Bandit feeds the microbes. That's the whole game with organic soil, so it's actually a better fit here than it is in synthetic feeds.

What you get from adding it to a PuurOrganics mix:

  • Carbs for the soil biology. The bacteria and fungi PuurOrganics depends on eat carbohydrates. Sticky Bandit gives them more fuel.
  • Terpene and aroma support in flower. Especially weeks 4 through 8 when the plant is pouring energy into essential oils.
  • Stress buffering. Heat waves, pest pressure, a weird week where the lights ran hot. Sticky Bandit helps the plant hold together.

Doses for PuurOrganics growers

  • Veg: 2 mL per gallon
  • Early flower (weeks 1 to 3): 3 mL per gallon
  • Mid to late flower (weeks 4 to 8): 5 mL per gallon

Where it goes in your mixing order: after the PuurOrganics bases, before pH adjustment, before Monkey Juice. The full order is in our mixing order guide.

CalMag with PuurOrganics

Yes, regular CalMag (NPK 2-0-0) works with PuurOrganics. It won't hurt anything.

But here's the thing. If you're growing organically, you probably picked PuurOrganics because you care about staying in-line. Dropping a mineral-chelated CalMag into the mix isn't a disaster, but it's not really the point of running an organic system.

That's why we made PuurCalMag. Same calcium and magnesium support, built for the PuurOrganics system, keeps you fully organic.

Use PuurCalMag when:

  • You want to stay fully organic or OMRI-oriented
  • You're running a living soil and care about the biology
  • You're already buying PuurOrganics bases and want to simplify

Regular CalMag is fine when:

  • You already have a bottle on the shelf and don't want to buy a second one
  • You're running mixed lines (some Classic 3-Part plants, some PuurOrganics)
  • You're troubleshooting an acute deficiency and need the faster mineral form

Other Cronk additives that work with PuurOrganics

Besides Sticky Bandit and CalMag, these are fully compatible:

  • Armadillo Armour (monosilicic acid, our silica supplement). Strengthens cell walls, improves stress tolerance. Goes first in the mixing order, always.
  • Monkey Juice (beneficial bacteria inoculant). Boosts the microbial population PuurOrganics already depends on. Goes last, after you pH your water.

The one you shouldn't mix with PuurOrganics

Bud Booster (NPK 0-1-3) is a synthetic PK supplement we built for the Classic 3-Part line and the Autoflower line. It's not designed for organic systems and we don't recommend it with PuurOrganics.

If you're on PuurOrganics and you want more flower-stage PK, you have two better options:

  1. Add Sticky Bandit in flower. 3 to 5 mL per gallon. It'll boost flower quality through carbohydrate and terpene pathways without breaking the organic chain.
  2. Adjust your PuurPhos and PuurK ratios. PuurOrganics is a 5-part system which means you have independent control over P and K during flower. Boost either one directly instead of adding a synthetic.

Frequently asked questions

Is Sticky Bandit organic?

Sticky Bandit isn't OMRI-certified, but it's plant-safe for organic grows and won't disrupt your soil biology. It's a carbohydrate-based additive, not a synthetic nutrient.

Can I mix regular CalMag and PuurCalMag in the same feed?

No. Pick one. If you use both at the same time you'll deliver too much calcium and magnesium and risk lockout. If you're switching from one to the other, flush the reservoir between feeds.

Does Sticky Bandit replace any PuurOrganics products?

No. Sticky Bandit is an additive, not a base. You still run your full PuurOrganics feed (PuurNitro, PuurPhos, PuurK, PuurCalMag, PuurBalance) and add Sticky Bandit on top.

I'm running Classic 3-Part on some plants and PuurOrganics on others in the same room. Can I use both CalMags?

Yes, but keep your reservoirs separate. Don't cross-contaminate the base nutrient chemistry between the two lines.

What about Bonnie and Clyde with PuurOrganics?

Bonnie and Clyde are our Autoflower line. They don't mix with PuurOrganics bases. If you're running autoflowers, you pick one base line: either Bonnie and Clyde, or PuurOrganics. Not both.
