Terpene Profile

The unique blend of terpenes defining each strain’s aroma, flavor, and effects.
Grower Slang: “Terp mix.”
Cronk Tip: Cool lights-off temps and slow curing preserve delicate aromatics.

Test Run

A trial grow or nutrient mix test before full production.
Grower Slang: “Trial run,” “tester.”
Cronk Tip: Always record EC, pH, and environmental data during trials.

THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol)

The primary psychoactive compound in cannabis responsible for euphoria and potency.
Grower Slang: “THC,” “the high.”
Cronk Tip: Stable temps and balanced nutrients preserve THC during bloom and cure.

THCA (Tetrahydrocannabinolic Acid)

The non-psychoactive precursor to THC that activates with heat (decarboxylation).
Grower Slang: “Raw THC.”
Found in fresh or unheated flower.

THC Percentage

The potency measure of THC by dry weight.
Grower Slang: “THC level.”
Top-shelf cannabis typically tests 20–30 % THC with proper curing and nutrition.

Thripe / Thrip

Tiny insect pests that feed on leaf tissue, leaving silver streaks.
Grower Slang: “Thrips,” “leaf scratchers.”
Cronk Tip: Neem oil, sticky traps, and beneficial mites prevent infestations.

Thinning

Removing excess leaves or shoots to improve airflow and light penetration.
Grower Slang: “Leaf pull.”

Threshold

The environmental limit a plant can handle before stress.
Grower Slang: “Limit line.”
Cronk Tip: Monitor VPD, EC, and temperature to stay within safe ranges.

Tiedown (LST)

A low-stress training technique using ties to bend and shape branches.
Grower Slang: “Tie-down,” “bend training.”
Cronk Tip: Use soft ties and adjust gradually to prevent splits.

Tilth

The physical condition of soil — structure, aeration, and texture.
Grower Slang: “Soil feel.”
Healthy tilth equals healthy roots.

Timer

A device that automates lights or irrigation cycles.
Grower Slang: “Cycle timer.”
Cronk Tip: Double-check after power outages to avoid light leaks.

Tissue Culture

A sterile lab propagation method using small plant cells.
Grower Slang: “Microclone.”
Preserves genetics long-term and eliminates pests or viruses.

Topping

Cutting the main stem to create multiple colas and even canopy growth.
Grower Slang: “Top,” “snip.”
Cronk Tip: Top after 4–6 nodes; allow 5–7 days recovery before flower.

Torch (Slang)

A butane torch used for dabs or sterilizing tools.
Grower Slang: “Dabber torch.”

Total Dissolved Solids (See TDS)

Alternate term for TDS measurement.

Transpiration

The release of water vapor through leaf stomata.
Grower Slang: “Plant sweat.”
Cronk Tip: Balanced humidity and VPD maintain proper nutrient flow.

Transplant

Moving a plant into a larger pot or medium.
Grower Slang: “Up-pot.”
Cronk Tip: Water immediately and use Monkey Juice for root recovery.

Transplant Shock

Stress from disturbed roots during transplant.
Grower Slang: “Setback.”
Cronk Tip: Armadillo Armour and Monkey Juice reduce stress.

Trichomes

Tiny resin glands containing cannabinoids and terpenes.
Grower Slang: “Frost,” “crystals.”
Cronk Tip: Low humidity and silica feeding maximize trichome density.

Trichome Heads

Bulbous tops of trichomes where resin and terpenes are stored.
Grower Slang: “Heads.”
Clear = early | Cloudy = peak | Amber = sedative.

Trim

Removing leaves from buds after harvest.
Grower Slang: “Manicure.”
Cronk Tip: Trim slightly tacky buds for clean cuts.

Trim Bin

Tray or workstation that collects trichomes during trimming.
Grower Slang: “Kief catcher.”

Trim Jail (Slang)

Grower slang for long trimming sessions.
Grower Slang: “Scissor prison.”
Cronk Tip: Use gloves, stretch often — sticky resin builds fast.

Trimming (Wet vs Dry)

Wet trim = immediate post-harvest; dry trim = after drying.
Grower Slang: “Wet trim,” “dry trim.”
Cronk Tip: Dry trim = better terpenes; wet trim = faster workflow.

Triploid (Genetic Term)

A plant with three sets of chromosomes — often sterile and used in breeding.
Grower Slang: “3-set.”
Triploid cannabis may produce seedless, higher-yield hybrids.
